An alumnus of Politehnica University Timișoara and a recognized leader in Romania's technological ecosystem, Val Mureșan is one of the most influential figures in Timișoara’s innovation community. Co-founder of the first Movidius research and development office in the city, he contributed to the development of some of the most advanced edge-AI technologies, including Vision Processing Unit (VPU) and Neural Processing Unit (NPU) architectures. After Movidius was acquired by Intel, Val took on the role of Country Manager for Intel Romania, playing a key role in integrating Movidius technology into Intel’s portfolio and contributing to the development of flagship products such as the Meteor Lake processor. His work goes beyond technology. Val Mureșan is a co-founder of key initiatives for the development of the local ecosystem: Banat IT Association, Timișoara Community Foundation, the cultural center FABER, Growceanu Angel Investors Club, and ABQ Institute – an innovation hub exploring the impact of advanced technologies on the future of humanity. At Tech Talks by UPT, Val contributed a strategic perspective on how quantum computing and new technologies can transform entire industries and contribute to a sustainable future through innovation, collaboration, and responsibility.
